It's not a bad thing for that game but I think it would be for Day of Destiny. The game is to fast and has to many automatic weapons. Even if you are using a bolt action rifle you play so fast. Then I think about games like Battlefield One which while in Battlefield One is a very fast game with lots of automatic weapons. It's fun to just sit there and pretend your a cold german sniper but that can of mechanic can slow down the game to much. You can spend a lot of time camping as well. That's not to say I don't want long range combat. That's to far for the combat I want this game to be focused around. The levels are much longer though and your fighting 100m - 200m. It's 32 vs 32 and 1/3 of the team has automatic weapons. There are automatic weapons but they majority of the team is using rifles. Red Orchestra 2 is a good example of a Bolt Action focused game. The teams are usually half bolt action/semi auto rifles and half automatic. Automatic weapons are never over whelming and there is always riflemen soldiers. Thinking about that I still want the game to feature rifles.

I want Day of Infamy to play more like Insurgency for it's fast corridor shooting. I'm not against the idea of re-balancing the class item selection however I want the automatic weapons to be available. Remember servers could always pick how many class' are available otherwise.

Literally everyone in the assault squad can have either a STEN or BREN and with the already small player cap and tiny maps you see waaay more SMGs and machine guns than is right, and also many vacant officer spots. Though I've never played insurgency from what I gather and from what I see in the game your equipment is restricted by points and class, however in DOI I'm not liking the current loadouts because we have waaay too many machine guns, SMGs and assault rifles.Įspecially in a small team game like DOI I don't think it is helpful to team gameplay when almost everyone has an STG, SMG, semi auto rifle or machine gun and does not reflect the tactics of the time and creates more insurgency gameplay rather than WW2 gameplay. I know this game as it is right now is basically just insurgency in WW2.
